🗞 Property taxes jumped 26.3% since 2019, primarily due to the rise in home values during the pandemic. Use this homeowner’s checklist from the National Taxpayers Union Foundation to appeal your tax assessment if you believe it’s too high.
🗞 Women have 1/3 of men’s savings, according to Prudential Financial’s survey of 55 to 75-year-olds. Men saved a median of $157,000, and women saved $50,000 for retirement.
🗞 Americans expect to spend less this summer on many categories, including dining out, entertainment, travel, vacations, and personal care products. If inflation continues cooling, slower spending could push the Fed to cut interest rates sooner rather than later.
🗞 Savers sleep better, according to research showing that those saving about $650 a month sleep well and have more optimism about the future than those saving less.
